In Saugatuck, Michigan, there is a park, called Mason Park, that is on the southeast corner of the intersection of Mason and Butler Streets. While not large, it is beautifully intimate with flowers, sculptures, trees, and benches upon which to sit to enjoy the beauty. And though it is right next to one of the busy intersections in Saugatuck, it is a peaceful haven, a get-away, from the tourists, shoppers, visitors, attraction-seekers, and shopkeepers and residents that call this beautiful town home.

Within that lovely park we took this picture of a Stargazer Lily during a brief visit in July 2023. We’ve made several visits there over the years and have always found new and beautiful sights to behold and never-ending new things to discover.

Our nearby community garden offered many great photo opportunities in 2022. This picture of a morning glory, taken in September, shows the detail of the pistil and interior of the flower with the petals being illuminated by the sun.

Another picture, taken that day, that you can find in our Etsy Shop is Flowers – Untitled #32.

An October 2022 walk around Crabapple Lake in the Morton Arboretum, Lisle, Illinois offered so many appealing sights.

This milkweed pod that had opened up gave an opportunity for the seeds with their feather-like structures to go airborne to find fertile ground.

Untitled – #81

In this picture we see the sun setting over Lake Michigan, taken in June 2008 from its sandy shores, in my hometown of Michigan City, Indiana.

It was one of countless beautiful nights on the lakeshore, enhanced by the illuminated sky and clouds, the reflections off the lake and sands, and the ever-faithful Michigan City lighthouse.

Tranquility and the golden hues made it such a memorable moment.

This image and Beach – Untitled #36 can both be found in our Etsy Shop.

Untitled – #76

The sun, almost as if dotting the ā€œiā€ of its own reflection, in Lake Michigan.

From a vantage point high atop one of the dune west of my hometown, I, once again, get to enjoy the art of the sunset during this June 2008 evening celebration.

If you look carefully, on the horizon and just to the left of center, you can see the Chicago skyline about 30 miles across the lake.

Untitled – #75

The sun is setting, reflecting off the clouds, creating a peaceful spectrum of colors above the horizon in this July 2008 picture.

I have the fondest memories of so many wonderful nights like this, year-round, in the dunes and on the beaches near my hometown. So many sunsets, too many to number, yet all unique, each one in its own fascinating way bringing the elements of grass, sand, water, and sky together in a tapestry, or painting, or composition of form, texture, color, attitude, behavior, life that always gave life.

Beach – Untitled #64

A windy day in August 2008 created an abundance of movement and motion in this picture taken at Beverly Shores, Indiana. There is so much going on in this picture that I will not belabor it with written description but let you find your own part or parts and imagine what it may have been like had you been with me that day. The Chicago skyline can be seen in the rays of the lowering sun on the horizon.

Another picture among the nearly one hundred taken that day, that you can find in our Etsy Shop, is Untitled #63.
