In September 2024, Carrie and I took a cruise to Alaska. We took over 650 pictures (certainly could have taken many more), and divided the 29 we dedicated to our Etsy Shop into 6 groups: Out to Sea, At Sea/Mendenhall Glacier, Skagway, Glacier Bay National Park, Ketchikan, and Return to Vancouver.
This is the fourth and largest group with ten pictures, Alaska – Untitled #137 through #146. During this leg of our actual voyage, we took a total of 317 pictures many of which were of the glacier at the terminus of the Johns Hopkins Inlet.
As we have stated before, the pictures tell the story better than words but we have added a few details simply to give some personal and geographical context. This summary will serve as our description of all ten pictures with the exception of #141, #142, #145, and #146 which give every brief added detail. You are invited to visit these pages as suits your curiosity.
This view, thanks again to the zoom lens, gives a sense of the texture shape, and color of these glaciers which are, we are told, in the simplest terms, super-packed snow which move down from the mountains.
